Team Update.......

October, 2004

October was the last month for racing over at Gateway. We attended a few Test and Tunes and then the Bracket Bash which was the very last chance to race this year. They had a Test and Tune on the Friday night the we attended. We brought my new bike over there, a 2002 Suzuki Hayabusa with a custom paint job. It didn't have an air shifter yet but I loved riding it. We stayed over at the track for the Bracket Bash that Saturday morning. I made quite a few passes on Friday and seemed to get the hang of the new bike. My fastest pass was a 9.76 @ 141 mph. I was really pleased since I didn't have an air shifter and had to foot shift.

It rained cats and dogs Friday night so on Saturday the track personnel had to dry the track before we could race, we got started late. All classes had a pretty good turn out. I entered both the Street Bike ET and Pro Bike ET classes. Charles also entered both classes. There were some good races going on. I had to race Nelson Taylor in first round for Street Bike and second round Pro Bike. I came out victorious both times. Wagner took me out in the Pro Bike class but I turned around and took him out in the Street Bike class. That brought me down to the finals, against who you ask ???, well of course Charles. Busa against busa, teammate against teammate. How fun! Well Charles dialed 9.45 to my 9.76 dial. He treed me, once again, I lost it on the tree. He cut a .073 light to my .110 light, he caught me and beat me to the finish line. Charles ended up running a 9.57 to my 9.86. We convinced the starter to let us run it back but we switched bikes, so he was on my new busa and I was on the silver busa. We ran heads up and he definitely out sixty footed me but I cut a better light and the silver bike is a bit stronger than the new one so I took the win light. It was a great weekend and I wish we could race all winter long, unfortunately we live in St. Louis :(

We feel we did very well this year. Charles had several wins at the local series at Gateway and ended up third in the points race. He won the NHRA Summit Series, Black Sunday and the Bracket Bash. He finished second at the NOPI event and third at the Soul Brothers race in Kansas City. Janie won the Wally again this year at Gateway and had several runner-up finishes. Janie won the NOPI series, runner-up at the Soul Brothers race, third at Black Sunday and fourth at the NHRA Summit Series race. So overall we had a very good year of racing.

This is the last update for the season, I will post a preseason update before we start our 2005 season. So HAPPY HOLIDAYS to all and be safe! Hope you enjoy the pictures!
