Team Update.......

May 23, 2004

As you know our first points race was rained out and the second race, April 9, I made it to second round only to loose to Marcus Taylor. That's OK though he went on to the semifinals against Jon Sykes. Charles made it to the semis in street bike and I can't recall whom he lost to but we both had a great time.

The next race April 23 I entered in both classes hoping that would give me more practice in the qualifying rounds so I could be more competitive. Well I didn't fair so well because I broke the rod and the release comp in my clutch, my night was over before it even began. I was bummed but Charles went on to the Finals in street bike against Nelson Taylor but did not come out victorious. That was Nelson's first win over at Gateway and he was so excited it took the disappointment away from Charles's loss. There was also a Midnight Madness Test & Tune at the track that night, Charles let me make a few passes on the Silver Busa and I loved it. I think I ran a 9.80, a 9.70 and a 9.60. I love that bike it is so smooth and fast. Maybe next year I will get one, oh wait, I want a new ZX10R, Kawasaki baby!

May 1st points race was rained out and that trend continued the rest of the month until this past Friday, May 21st. I had break cards from the April 23rd race so I competed in both classes. I did pretty well, I made it to second round in Pro Bike defeating Jon Sykes for the first time ever, I was psyched. I have nothing but respect for Jon he is an awesome racer but an even better person, he is also the track champion in Street Bike from last season. After racing Jon in Pro bike I had to race him again second round in Street Bike. To my surprise Jon lost on red-light. I then had bye run to the semi finals, against who you ask, Charles. I lost to Charles who had a competition bye in to the Semis against me. Charles went on to win the Street Bike class against Jim Aufderheide. He made it a couple rounds in Pro Bike as well. He was on a roll, I am happy for him!

Well, that's all I have for now. Our next race will be this Friday May 28th. We will also be out on Wednesday for the Test & Tune session. Then June 4, 5 and 6 AMA Prostar is in town for the all motorcycle race. We will be there as well. This is going to be a great few weeks of racing. Hope to see you all out at the track! Take Care!
