Update.......

April, 2005
Welcome
back to another fun filled season of racing with Willis Racing.
March was very cold but we did get a couple Test and Tune
days in over at the track. It was a little challenging for
Janie since she just had ACL reconstructive surgery on her
knee in January. That made it hard for her to get her feet
up on the foot pegs in a timely fashion after the launch.
She now has the bad habbit of leaving her feet off the pegs
the whole way down the race track.
Our
first points race of April was rained out, surprise, surprise.
I think everyone was OK with it since it would give us all
a few more well needed Test and Tune days before the next
scheduled points race on April 15. April 15th rolled around
and proved to be very good for Charles and not so great for
Janie. Charles went to the finals in Street Bike and lost
to Marcus Taylor who was on his game all night long, Congratulations
to Marcus! Janie lost first round of Street Bike and went
to the second round of Pro Bike.
The
next race was Sunday of that same weekend, April 17. Gateway
is having a Midnight Madness on our scheduled Friday night
points night so they pushed us off to the Sunday before that
Friday, if that makes sense :). Anyway, basically the same
results as Friday night, Janie lost first round of Street
Bike and second round of Pro Bike. Charles kicked butt up
until the Semi-Finals of Street Bike and Marcus Taylor won
Street Bike again, Congratulations to Marcus!
Saturday,
April 30 we traveled to Kansas City International Raceway
for their first points race of the year. Our track had been
closed all week due to the NASCAR trucks taking over the track.
We didn't have anything to do so we decided to make the short
trip up to Kansas City. They run their races a little different
than Gateway. The bikes had to wait until 4PM to qualify and
then eliminations started at 7PM for the bikes. Well Charles
and Janie did very well. Charles made it down to the semifinals
and Janie made it to the finals and beat a harley to take
her first win for the year, yippie! :) We have to say that
everyone in Kansas City is very friendly and were happy to
see us make the trip from the STL, well until we took their
winners trophy back to St. Louis. Thanks for the hospitality
KC, we will be back!
Here
are a few photos from April, hope you enjoy! Thanks to Bret
