Update.......
April 8, 2004
OK, it's about time I gave you all an update on Willis Racing.
Gateway International Raceway opened Saturday, March 27th
and of course we were there. It was a little rough on the
bikers since there were 300 cars and maybe 20 bikes. Needless
to say we only got 4 runs in the whole day. That's OK though
it was still AWESOME to be back at the track.
Sorry, I forgot my camera Saturday....
Test & Tune ....... Wednesday, March 31st proved to be
a much better Test & Tune session at GIR for the bikes. The
table was turned, 20 bikes and only 30 or so cars. We made
so many runs down the ¼ mile I couldn't count them at the
end of the night. Highlight of my evening was running my personal
best, 9.75, on my ZX9R.

Road Trip……. We took a road trip that same weekend April 2,
3 & 4. We went to Springfield, MO, Asbury, MO (MoKan Dragway),
Wichita, KS (Wichita International Raceway) and on to Kansas
City, MO (Kansas City International Raceway). We took the
trailer and our street bikes. We raced so much that Charles
and I both burned up our clutches. We really had a great time.
The tracks are nothing, let me repeat, nothing like Gateway
International Raceway. I have to applaud the Gateway Staff
for keeping our home track absolutely fabulous! Even though
I was not a big fan of the tracks I still had a great time
at each and every one of them. The people were very friendly
and accommodating.

Test & Tune……. Wednesday April 7 was much like the prior
Test and Tune session. The weather scared the cars away. Let
me tell you I am NOT complaining. We ran round robin all night
long, it was great. I love nights like that. I didn't get
many pictures, please forgive me. I was way too busy racing
and having fun! Friday April 9 - will be our first points
race, our official first race was rained out. I am keeping
my fingers crossed that the weather holds out for us. I will
keep everyone posted on our accomplishments throughout the
year and any other news I have to share.
